    Hi,
I have a friend that has a problem. He installed Webroot Spysweeper and his pc is password protected. Now when he powers on the pc he can't log in. He said that after pushing the first key for his password the cursor won't move and the bullet doesn't show up like it does when you normally enter a password. I asked him what changes were made and he said the only thing that was done was installing spysweeper and running the scan and letting it get rid of what it found. He also said that it slowed his pc to a crawl. Now he can't even logon. I personally hate the spysweeper program. I tried it once and had nothing but problems. It slowed my whole pc down and made my internet worse than dial up and I have DSL. Any suggestions on how to fix his problem? Thanks in advance.

Has he set a password for safe mode? If not then he should be able to access the add/remove programs as well as reset the passwords ( or just delete the password) or add a new user in order to get into the system.

    Hi,
He was able to get the screen for safe mode and it is also password protected. He said that he was able to move the pointer with the mouse until he went to put the password in, then the pc locked up again and nothing would happen. He couldn't type anything and the pointer would not move with the mouse. Is there any way it could be a fault with the keyboard? The F key worked to allow him to access the safe mode screen but any other key when trying to enter the password locks up the system. I have not run into this type of situation before. Thanks in advance for any other suggestions.

Well, I would try a different keyboard to rule that out .....:)

Well so far I am not sure what happened he took it to someone else to be fixed. Actually it was his mom's computer and she took it to someone she knows to be fixed. It was done the same night she took it in so it couldn't have been anything real serious. I asked him to find out what the problem was because I am curious what was causing the problem. It is really hard to diagnose a problem like that when you don't have the pc in front of you to tinker with and try different things. If I find out what the problem was I will post to this thread one more time. I do appreciate the assistance in this forum. I have tried a few other forums and this is by far the best for up to date information and quick resopnses. Thanks again.
