Can't log on my computer!!!

Help I don't know what happen, all of a sudden I couldn't log on to the internet. My ISP said that I was showing a connection but the computer was talking to itself. Also I don't have any problems getting on my xbox live.
When I try to go onlline I see a small dns error and I have been getting som missing adsn.dll error randomly when I am offline.
Please help.

 

Welcome to MajorGeeks! I am not that great at network stuff. This might help, won't hurt anything. Go to Start-Run and type in cmd and click on OK. 'Type in ipconfig /release' (without the ') hit enter. Once that is done, press the up arrow on your keyboard, and change the /release part to /renew (should be 'ipconfig /renew') and press enter.

Post any errors you get if you get any. Might help.

I did some searching around and that is a little out of my experience. Do you have a firewall on the computer? If you do, try disabling that and see if you can connect. Sorry I can't help. One of MajorGeeks network experts will probably reply to your post and get you fixed up.

Firewall wasnt connected. Still doesnt work.

 

I was hoping someone who really knows their network stuff would chime in. The firewall would have been an easy solution. Here is some info I found for you to read. I can't help much with it. Will be glad to try, but...
