    Hi All.

I don't know what's going on recently.Just about all the time now, when I use the Orbit Downloader to download a Free program,it comes in as either PHP,1 File or 2 File, and of course I can't open the application.Apps usually download as either a ZIP or Application Type, and of course,no problem to open/install them ! What can I do to fix this? Very annoying. Can anyone help me to fix this? Thanks.

Something you are using is not working correctly. I would disable the downloader for smaller apps, at least here, because of the expiring links we use to protect other sites from linking to our files, this can happen with some download managers.

    HI,
I'm a bit confused with above! (But that's nothing new with me,smile).I really don't know why this problem occured, because I Downloaded and used "Orbit Downloader" about a month ago,and used it to download a bunch of free programs that came in as either ZIP or Application, and of course no problem to Open/Install them! Then in the past little while, the download TYPE is shown as "1 File or 43 File or 81 File etc... See Screenshot
The odd thing,is that if I use the Free Download Manager, downloader,I don't have this annoyance! What do you think could be causing this?
I've looked at your other above suggestions, but I see more questions to come from me! What do you think about all this? Thanks again.

I think maybe Windows is having problems because your downloaded filenames don't have "standard" extensions, but have extra information added on the end. I've had the same sort of problem (not from using a download manager, just the way the files were named strangely that way on file-hosting sites, etc.)

I got usable files by simply erasing the extra letters and numbers on the end, so the extension were only .zip or .exe.

Give it a try on one or two, and see if that works.

    Thanks gGrump,
Your suggestion partly solved the problem. When Downloading with "Orbit Downloader" I was adding the Version # (See Screenshot) If I take out this addition,it becomes a ZIP Archive which I can Open,as long as it shows more than "1 File" in the Type column.Example:42 File.
Very strange indeed!Because when I download Programs with the Free Download Manager Program,I always add the version #,and everything works normally! Your the only one that came up with any kind of workable solution, and I thank you very much.
