Can't play swf. files off of websites.

Basically I can't play any video off of www.nfl.com/videos, this happened once I bought a new virus scanner that came with viruses itself causing my to sysmte restore. I think its my windows internet security because it asked me if I trusted this site and I said dont allow, after I did system restore. I have spent several hours trying to figure out the program I updated adobe, realplayer, quicktime, firefox, windows. I went to privacy under tools and added the website. Any advice please people I use to be on the site all day.

swf are viewed using adobe flash player try updating to the latest version found here " http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=5163 " this may fix you problem

 

Thanks but I stated in the paragraph I already updated adobe along with several other programs.

have you check in your firefox addons section to see if flash player pluggin is enabled or disabled.

 

yes its enabled.

 

its actually just the shockwave flash plug in is enabled. There is no actualy Flash Player Plugin.

you stated you had a virus and had to do a system restore.did you disinfect your system before the restore as most viruses will corrupt you system volume directory where your back ups are kept and doing a restore wont necessarily get rid of a virus.thus you may still be infected

 

So I am still infected with a virus and this is why I can't play these videos?
If so do you know of a free virus scanner I can download. I tried avg, but as I was installing it said a error occured and it couldn't install.

well if you are getting an error when trying to install an anti virus program that's another sign of an infection.i suggest you follow the read and run me first guide found here " http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 " and then post the logs from these steps in the malware forum and the malware gurus the will help you out,they are really good when it comes to getting rid of infections good luck.

 

k I am almost done with everything and will let you know soon whats going on thanks for all your help so far. The Registry Mechanic scanner took 22 infections away for left 260, because I'm not going to purchase it. Thanks again I'll get back to you soon

the errors that registry mechanic has found are not virus infections and registry mechanic will not find any viruses as it is not an antivirus scanner. the errors it has found are obsolete and incorrect registry entries.you really need to be careful when cleaning the windows registry and be sure to keep any back ups when prompted another good and safe free registry cleaner you can use is ccleaner found here " http://www.majorgeeks.com/CCleaner_Slim_No_Yahoo_Toolbar_English_d4191.html ".
but once again be sure to keep all back ups when prompted.

be sure to finish all of the required steps in the read and run me first section and follow the guide to the end including flushing out your system restore points otherwise you may get infected again.hope i have help with your problem.
