Is it possible to print out a pdf file in landscape where I can put 2 pages side by side (not one on top of the other, which is what it is doing, even after i have changed the printer orientation to landscape). I have an older version of Adobe, but I know I have printed out pdf documents like this before. I use the older version unporppose, as the new version kept giving me errors & failing.
    Windows XP, Adobe 9.4
    Thanks for input.

Have you changed from portrait to landscape in the printer setup settings?
What brand and model of printer?

I don't use adobe. I use sumatra for my pdfs. I also have ghost printers installed to convert from doc to pdf if I need that.

I just tried this in Sumatra (on an XP SP3 computer) and it worked. When I clicked on file then print, I clicked on preferences for the printer. I changed from portrait to landscape. Then I clicked on the layout tab and selected 2 pages per sheet.

Yes, I did change it. What it did was turn the page sideways, but it was still putting the pages vertical, one on top of the other, tiny pages with giant margins on either side!
The printer is HP photosmart. I printed out my dutch grammar & Workbook, 2 pages side by side in landscape, but I can't remember if I used this PC or the laptop.

My printer is also an HP photosmart and as mentioned, it worked for me.

    Try Sumatra pdf portable http://majorgeeks.com/Sumatra_PDF_d5622.html
on the problem computer and see if it works.
If so, I'd advise you to uninstall Adobe Reader and replace it with Sumatra or another one with fewer security holes.

Off-topic >> Plodr - thanks for the link for this PDF viewer - it can also view .CHM files. Where I work these files sometimes will not display properly (policy setup, I believe), but this viewer can.

On-topic >> CSSC - Are you using Adobe print setting dialog or your printer properties for the portrait/landscape orientation? That may make a difference. Though I'm using Adobe X and a different printer, using Adobe's settings for the orientation gives the outcome you're looking for (unless this Adobe version introduced some corrections). I left the printer properties alone (portrait).

    My $.05 :)

    File, Print, Preferences.
Click on the Layout tab to change to Landscape.
Click on the Features tab and select Pages per sheet. Choices are 1, 2 and 4.

Yup, Sumatra for it's small size can open more than pdfs.

I finally got it to work, but the text is still too small. Giant margins. Not your problem, though.
I did not find where to set Adobe on landscape. :confused

I haven't used Adobe in years, on any of our home computers, so I am unable to help you with that.

Are you using Adobe 9.4 Pro or Reader? Can you post a screenshot of the Adobe Print dialog?
