can't shut down PC

    i can,t shutdown, restart, log off my xp if i work on my PC for a longer time.......if i work for a shorter time than i can do all the acts....But one thing is that i can hibernate the PC....pls solve the problem....

    Not going to be easy, there are numerous possibilities here. Are your fans running properly (ie not full of dust and dirt) as heat is a suspected problem.

    More importantly, usually if you think about it, what did you install or change before this problem started? Think about it...

    Do you drive clean and defrag? A badly defragmented hard drive can cause the hard drive to churn. I have a similar thread like this, would like you to scan your drive for errors. Right click the drive (windows explorer or my computer) and go to tools, scan for errors.
