I recently had a mean virus that we finally killed but now I cannot sign into Ebay. I can view all of the auctions, pull up specific auctions but if I try to bid or sign into My Ebay I get sent the "Page Cannot be Displayed" page. Any Ideas on how to kill it. I never had a problem before the virus, so I am thinking that one of the spywar programs or virus killers may be affecting it or just a simple default needs to be changed on Windows. I also cannot update my Windows XP at Microsoft, I get an error code there too.

    Thanks.

I have ran all the virus scanners and everything is clean but I still cannot sign onto Ebay, I still get the "This Page Cannot be Displayed" error message. I recently was hijacked by SwapX and that was finally killed with the help of PhillyPhan and everything is working except for the sign in errors. Any more suggestions?

    Thanks.

Have you run Ad-aware and Spybot from safe mode?

I also went through and deleted my old Java like the tutorial told me to and tried to install the java from:

    http://java.sun.com/getjava/index.html

But it will not download at all. I cannot download from the site (automatic) or manual. WHen trying to download manual I get an error message telling me it cannot download java because of the web browser settings.

I am using Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6.0.

In Internet Explorer from the Tools menu, click on Internet Options > Click on the Privacy tab > Slide the Privacy Setting down until it reads Low.

See if that helps, especially your eBay site.

in the advanced options under IE, make sure that use ssl 2.0 and use ssl 3.0 are checked. If they are already checked, then uncheck them, reboot and then check them again and retry.

next thing to do is to run an SFC

go to start ...run..type cmd and hit enter

    at the prompt type

    SFC/ scannow and hit enter
this will replace corrupted system files.

    Dayn,

Really did not understand your post about Adware. Double-check any anti-virus, spyware, popup or spam blockers, etc. you may have installed. Look in options or something just to make sure.

Maybe something is not allowing what you need for access to these sites. In short, disable any pop-up blockers that you might have on other programs installed or running.

Which version did you have? Norton Internet Security or Personal Firewall 2003.

Just some info on the Norton's product, be specific, want to make sure you have removed / deleted all entries and files.
