can't stop the music!

CatT I can't follow the rules

How does one SELECTIVELY turn off background music in specific tabs/windows? I have one site, in particular, that drives me CRAZY with some autoplay crap. If that's all it were, I'd just turn off my speakers/headphones, but I am often trying to listen to something ELSE when this occurs.

That is, I'm listening to something from Window/Tab "A", and I would like to access/read something in Window/Tab "B" without the latter blasting autoplay music all over the thing I'm listening to!

This drives me NUTS. At times I have like 4-5 unwanted "soundtracks" competing with the lone one that I actually WANT.

Actually, can I turn it all off as the DEFAULT...and the turn it *ON* selectively for one specific window? This would be ideal.

    TIA!

Control Panel/Internet Options/Multimedia, uncheck play sounds in webpages for all with IE, but for a selective web page you may have to run another web browser, or a safe mode/no add-ons version of the same web browser. Or possibly disable flash, or use noscript add on with firefox...
