Can't stop windows messager when I start outlook

Whenever I start the Outlook Express, Windows messenger starts automatically. And I can't turn windows messenger off. How do I start it from starting?

To stop it from running use ShootTheMessenger

To uninstall it.

Click on Start > Run

And then type or copy/paste this in the window:

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

press enter.

 

You've got a mismatch of things there.

Shoot The Messenger is for the Messenger service, whioch is used to send administrative alerts, such as net send.

You can also disable Windows Messenger (the IM application) from OE by making a new DWORD value under this registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Outlook Express

DWORD value Hide Messenger

1 - enable
2- disable

 

I used the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Outlook Express

DWORD value Hide Messenger

and it worked.
