Can't uninstall Chrome Click-to-Skype plugin

Trying to remove Click-to-Skype plugin from Google Chrome. Uninstall crashes with error message:

There is a problem with this Windows Install package. A script
required for the install to complete could not be run. Contact
your support personnel or package vendor.

The problem script is not identified. A complete uninstall and reinstall of Chrome was no help.

We're running Windows 7 Home Premium on an Acer Aspire with 4 GB RAM (max supported by motherboard).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

The MS Fix it below, seems to have resolved your uninstall issues for some.

Run the fixit> Accept the agreement> Detect problems and let me select the fixes to apply> Uninstalling.
Select the Skype plugin and proceed.
