Cant upgrade to Win 2000!

I have a desktop running windows 98. I reformatted and installed 2000 completely. Then the computer restarted and procedded to install the drivers for the mouse and keyboard by the time its dont doing that my computer wont recognize either the mouse or the keyboard so there is no way to advance the screen and complete the setup. The kicker to this whole thing is that my computer is strictly usb....usb mouse....ps2 keyboard with a usb adapter. there is not a single ps2 port on my computer...please help me im about to put this computer at the side of the road..its really pissin me off... thanx in advance

 

enter your BIOS and make sure you enable USB keyboard and mouse support through the them... or if they are on, try it with them off.

in most BIOS the option should read Legacy USB Keyboard Support and similar for mouse, with the option Enable or Disable.

i've had trouble during windows installation many times because of USB keyboards as well.
