Can't use my own Router connection!

The Setup: Desktop with cable internet. Linksys Router. Laptop with wireless ability. All Windows XP. This is a new laptop. The old one used to connect fine. This one can connect to the Router (says "Connected!") but the internet and email don't work. It tries for a minute and gives me an error msg saying it cannot connect. I tried the other wireless networks that showed up. I get one signal that is low, but I can connect to. Works fine - just slow and sketchy (it's what I'm on now). So then I decided to make my own network connection "unsecure" and connect that way. I did, everything worked for a day, but no longer. Same 1 minute attempt to connect with an error message. So I'm back to using someone else's dodgy internet while I'm paying for my own and can't get on internet/email though it says I'm connected! Any ideas? I have Kerio firewall (replaced my Zone Alarm) but I don't think that has anything to do with it since I can connect to other Networks and if I disable it, I still can't get online via my personal network connection.

    Please advise! Thank you, Stephanie

Hmmm...Now I just tried disabling my firewall and my connection works! Will see if I can reconfigure to solve problem.

Did you put your Network IP range in the Kerio's trusted Zone?

I thought I knew what I was doing...maybe you could help. I went to Kerios "Trusted Area" and clicked "Add". I then put in Adapter: LAN, IP ADDRESS/RANGE and entered "192.168.1.1" as first address and "192.168.1.150" as the second for the range. Was this range too small? Was I supposed to put in my Default Gateway? (which is covered in this range anyway). Also, it never asked for my mask - so should I do the IP ADDRESS/MASK instead?

Please help. I set up my network about 4 years ago and totally forgot how to do it now!!

    Thank you!

And do I put in my laptop's IP Address or the Desktop's? Both are covered in the range, but I was just wondering...

So it's definitely my firewall. I've put in every range imaginable in the Trusted Area in Kerio and checked "Enable Gateway" for internet usage and I still get no connection unless I disable Kerio. I'm finally on my own Internet through Linksys, but have no firewall now.
