Car Subwoofers which ones?

Hi guys me again and another car audio question for you all!

Im thinking about upgrading my car subwoofers. I currentley have 2x12" and they are a bit shitty, and are a bit bruised and battered, so i decided it was time to to splash out.

I have a dilemma, i have narrowed it down to two different subwoofers i would like.

The first one is the. . . "Pioneer TS W306C 12" 1000 Watt"which can be found here. . . http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/3444.html

The second beauty i have my eye on is the "Alpine: SWL-1241 - 12" subwoofer 800 watt". Found here. . .

The rest of my car speakers are currently alpine (6x9's and 13 cm door speakers) and i am quite content with these.

I dont know that much about speakers myself. I know the pioneers have a high power handling but one of my friends told me that doesnt necesarily mean their better. Pioneer and Alpine are both respectable brands so hopefully one of you guys out there will be able to help me

Personally, I wouldn't go with either. I'd choose JL Audio.

 

I had a set of Pioneer 12" subs in a bandpass box, and I hated them. I generally like Pioneer speakers, but not their subs.

I also had a pair of 10" MTX's for a while, which sounded much better than the Pioneers.

No experience with Alpine subs.

Just because it's a well known brand, doesn't mean they do EVERYTHING well. Alpine supposedly makes decent head units, but that doesn't necessarily mean they make good subs.

Very funny, but not very helpful! lol no worries. I asked you guys which ones you would choose out of the 2 above if u had to, not which brand of sub you prefer. Yes JL are good but i dnt have £109 to spend on one sub, i have a budget of about £50 per sub. So out of the 2 i listed which ones would you say are technically better regardless of ur dislike for them. Thank you for your feedback so far tho.

Alpine then.

However, even at that...I'd look at the Type Rs instead of what you are looking at.

Saving up and getting better is cheaper than getting worse ones and getting better later down the road.

 

Just go with a Black Widow 18" Bass Amp driver if you can cram it in your car...
I know the 15" I have in my bass cabinet rattles the windows in my house enough to watch the glass bowing in and out to the beat of the music... never have gone past 4 on the volume... I think the windows would shatter....

 

Im having major cash flow problems atm! lol so i have a while to save up and consider which ones i want. Thanks for you help guys.
