    Hi there,

My OS is windows xp home edition, I have an inbuilt multicard reader. The card reader has just stopped working. When I open my comp. The F drive which I assume is normally allotted as the card reader is showing as a dvd drive.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Kevin

I have a dell xps with xp...when i go to my computer, the multi-card reader shows up as a removable disk.."G" i think...but it works fine! Could there be a loose connection inside? (Take a peek!) Is your computer still under warranty?

    Hi there,

Thanks for the reply, no the warranty is well gone. I`m not confident enough to have a look inside, probably do more damage.
Whats really strange is that when I go to Trouble shoot on the F drive, I`m told that its working ok. Also when I open it in my comp, I`m asked to insert a disc? I know my F drive is dedicated to the card reader, it just appears that it may have forgotten. I asked at the microsoft help forum, just couldn`t understand what the advice was. Way too technical for me.
