Card reader suggestions

Hi

I have a simple question... does anyone here have an internal card reader installed in their tower that they like, works great, no issues?

I currently have an external card reader (which is great for travel, but takes up desk space I could definitely use for other things), and would like to put an internal card reader in my machine.

However, as I've been looking at the card readers on Newegg, there are hundreds, and several that I've looked at have a mixture of good and bad reviews.

I want it to be able to read SDHC cards and Sony Memory Sticks (Pro Duo, etc.). USB/Firewire/eSATA ports would be a plus, but not necessary. A MicroSD slot would be a definite plus.

 

None (at least I could not find one) can read a MicroSD card without the adaptor, so you can read it at a regular SD card slot; when you buy a SDcard usually they come together with the adaptor. And I Am not sure about the Sony Memory sticks, but I think they can be read with an adaptor too (I think my son did that, but he's not here to ask).

keep looking, the portable ones are coming in smaller units, so space in your desk would'nt be a concern. Let us know!

 

The portable one I have is small, but it takes up more space than being INSIDE my computer tower!

I believe I found a decent one on Newegg, actually... AND it reads MicroSD without an adaptor!
