wasn't there a cartoon in the 60s or 70s which had "...spelled sideways" as part of its intro? i really thought it was dudley do-right, but google doesn't bear this out. barring that, maybe george of the jungle...but again, bupkis.

nor can i seem to reverse engineer what the pair of words might be (satan/santa, snake/sneak and gritto/ot-tri-gruh-guh-guhhh most common pairs on google...).

anyone recall offhand? this is rly bugging me!

I was just today looking at old SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK and H.R. PUFNSTUF videos on YOUTUBE. Maybe you can try a search "70's cartoons" ?

i must say, i don't really remember this product -- much less the commercial -- but i suspect this must have been it:

wonder why that never came up the 29 times i tried gooling BEFORE wasting a thread on this!

aniwe maybe the spots ran during dudley do-right. i really thought that was the source of the phrase.
