Case fan not working

Hi gang,

I have an antec case and a msi k8t neo, for some reason my main case fan has stopped working, and i can't find how to turn it on...

I noticed today playing WoW, my computer got so hot the video card stopped working...

How do i tell if this is just a mechanical fault or a software error... could it be new bios error? I can't find anything in bios that lets me turn it on, or that could be the cause of it not working

The computer is pretty new, only like a year old.

Sounds like a bad fan. Rare tho
Do you have another fan you can try?
Could it have come unplugged from the board?
Loose wire?
Fans aren't that expensive to buy.
You might want to leave your covers off till you resolve this.

 

I wouldn't suggest using your computer much without a case fan, just go to your local computer shop or newegg and geta new one, theya re cheap.btw are you on horde or alliance?

 

or you can maybe try plugging the fan into another switch. does it work then. if not get a real cheap crappy fan. does it work. if not then its your board if it does its your fan. there are some bios settings on some boards. check there also if it is set for the fan speed to be controlled by the bios change that to where it is just on and see what happens.

 

if you are an alliance don't worry about the fan, just seal the back with duct tape.

 

Hey guys cheers for the feedback. I can't find anything in the bios that would suggest its been turned off, but i'm no computer whiz so who knows. Will fiddle around & see if I can't find a dodgy connection, thanks.
