I'm collecting hardware for modifications/upgrades and would like some feedback and comments about this issue.
Among the new parts are a case and motherboard.
At the top of my preferred case list was the be quiet! 500DX.
I passed on that choice in favor of a Corsair 4000D Airflow primarily because the be quiet! case does not have a reset button.

Today I looked at what power options are available in the UEFI of the current board, an MSI Z390-A Pro.
I found an option, disabled by default, to enter the UEFI directly by holding down the Power button for 5 seconds.
That does not replace a dedicated Reset button, but is more convenient than repeatedly tapping the keyboard.

The new motherboard will be an ASUS TUF Z390-Plus Gaming (WI-Fi).

It's a little cheaper than the Pro version which is now scarce or unavailable.
Maybe the ASUS has a similar option.

Why would a major case manufacturer choose to remove or omit the Reset button?

On the be quiet! 500DX, it appears that the Reset switch may have been replaced with the RGB settings button.
Still, I think a reset is a required feature.
Maybe case manufacturers reason that power options on newer motherboards makes that unnecessary.

What are your thoughts about this?

Because it saves them 2 1/2 cents per case.

But also, because it typically is no longer needed. Check your BIOS Setup Menu again. There should be settings for the front panel power button function. You typically can set the function to do different things - one would be Reset. Another is where you press and hold the button for 4 seconds to power off.

 Another hole in the panel, because they added an RGB button.

The only setting I find is GO2BIOS which is holding the power button for 4 seconds to go directly into the UEFI.
    .................................

If I may ask another question ...
There is a setting for Boot mode select with two choices: UEFI or LEGACY+UEFI
The default setting was LEGACY+UEFI but I changed it to UEFI because I get fewer confusing choices when booting from a Flash Drive.
This is a Linux only machine and I use GPT partitioning on all of the drives.

What are the advantages / disadvantages for those two choices?

I suspect your motherboard manual will do a better job of explaining the differences than I would. Legacy likely means the traditional BIOS.
