catfish, anyone like it?

We had that photo in our local paper a couple of weeks back. My hubby cut it out he was so amazed. It's slightly bigger than the two catfish we have in the aquarium.

 

Had it 3 times, once in Europe, twice in US.


I come from a fishing port myself and, betrayal or not, always prefered Haddock to Cod.

To cut a long fillet short...............yes please.

I thought we had big one's in Alaska. That must be 500 lb, and it floats.

I think it was over 650, it was somewhere close to that(the first img)

 

Yes, well that will feed a lot of us…….biggest that I caught was 72 pounds, a few at 55 to 60…….and some in at 15 to 20, but most two to three pounds…….the best meat is in the head, don’t know why………yes, I like catfish…….wobbles

 

So THAT`S what happened to mine and Max`s bass minnows!!!!

 

Here on the Illinois river we would use that as BAIT!!!!!

 

this is what happens if you through a can of tuna in the sea (this was in fact left over omelet). you can then scoop them out and either fry them whole or use them as bait, but you need to be careful. there are VERY big fish in the sea here, so you have to want what you catch. aloha

That can't be a fish. It has to be a whale. Biggest I ever caught was around 20 pounds. But I live in the "sea of grass" known as Kansas! Oh well.

When do we eat?

 

No kidding, that's a lot of fried catfish. Makes my mouth water!

First post back from vacation. It's hard to get back in the swing of things after a week on the beach!

 

What's the story behind that picture j, where did they catch or find it ?

Yes, I'll have a couple fillets on some nice fresh whole wheat bread. Maybe some dill spears and some of my wife's homemade sauce. Top it off with a cold Sam Adams, and I'll be a happy man.
