Catfish Noodling?

A law was just passed in Georgia making "noodling" for catfish legal in the state. I had no idea what it was, so I googled it. These people are nuts

I went noodling for grizzlies in northern BC a while back. Now there's an interesting sport...

 

So, have you participated in this sport, Kilowatt? I would love to hear a first hand account.

 

The fins of a catfish will slice you pretty bad.........but that's not as bad as sticking your hand in the mouth of a very large snapping turtle.

I bet alligator noodling is a short lived hobby... but interesting none the less.

I noodle for tuna sometimes. Well, can-noodle anyway... at the grocery store... (but only on special occasions). It's a real good, proud feeling when you get up to the checkout, especially when I get those really big cans at Costco.

Tips for a pleasant can-noodling adventure
1. load up all your gear in the car and go to Costco.
2. put on your waders and fishing hat in the parking lot... (the more gear you wear, the more respect you get in the store)
3. hit all the food sample carts... you want to get a good meal in so you can focus all your attention on the task at hand.
4. I always get the kind packed in water, but you can always get the kind in oil and lube your car with it.
5. try to give other shoppers can-noodling tips.
6. take your tuna to the hot dog counter, open it and clean it, then put it in an ice chest before leaving.
