Well M$ will sometimes try stuff like that to try to make themselves look good. And i'm pretty sure the US has some laws governing stuff like that.

 

Hey Mr. Flea, thanks for the heads-up. I'm using AVG right now, w/ spybot on my XP partition. Seems to be doing me right.

(I'm on the knoppix partition now, gonna try to "steal" the config files I need to get debian woody configured for internet, etc...

Oh, well, all I can say is, being a "newcomer" and trying to get this debian stuff right, I;ll just reinstall anyway.
I'm so new that I had to reinstall 5 times today, but I finally got my
/etc/wvdial.conf file right to dial up on pulse (yes pulse phone - I'm one of the handful of people in North America with a pulse phone) and actually handshake w/ my ISP server.

So....

I can ping now, but can't bring up a site in Mozilla, even by entering the IP address.

Gotta ripoff some scripts from the knoppix distro to put in woody, I suppose.

Anyway, like our great leader, I'm a "suicide tweaker". Push comes to shove, I'll just reinstall. Heck I have to anyway for now.

I wasn't searching for pR0n when that one turned up... I don't remember what I was searching for though, I do on average 30 google searches a day.

 

so, is it true, do the pR0n sites have more viruses, spyware, what have you, that other sites do? And if so, why?

If you walk around in the cyberworld in "weird places" you get nasty stuff...

They use the pR0n to lure the suckers in and then give them the virus.
