Anybody using the cCleaner registry cleaner with 7, 64 bit?

I ask because a few years ago the registry cleaner gave me a few problems with Vista. Specifically, it would disassociate the Microsoft Management Console with *.msc files. Not hard to fix, but an annoyance. This was corrected in later updates to cCleaner.

I use the program almost daily to keep my system lean, but I have been gun shy about the registry cleaner. Anybody using it for this?

think the rule of thumb is to NOT use a registry cleaner, altho many do. i use ccleaner to clean up cookies flash etc & that's it. wouldn't dream of using it to "fix" my registry.

That does seem to be a matter of individual opinion, but cCleaner has been declared here to be one of the safest registry cleaners available. I've been using it on systems for years and have only had the one problem with my own Vista system.

And it gives you the option to create a backup before performing the clean.

I was just wondering if there were any 7 64 bit users with experience here.

I am a 7 ultimate 64 user and use CCleaner once a week to clean out the rubbish, i have also used the reg cleaner without the slightest problems.

I also use a paid program to clean things up "Windows 7 manager" which i also find very safe.
