Hi all and Happy Holidays. Just a quick question.

I downloaded a free version of Ccleaner (ver 3.01.1327) on my new computer, along with the latest version of Roboform, Every time I run Ccleaner, it erases all of my passwords and I have to start over again, filling and saving.

I've been using both Ccleaner and Roboform on my computers for years, and this was never an issue. Can anyone think why this may be happening and how to remedy it? If it can't be remedied, could you recommend a program like or just as good as Ccleaner? Would prefer free, but it's not a requirement.

    Thanks in Advance!
    Lisa

    Hi

Open up CCleaner and then click the Applications tab then untick Roboform if its listed in the list of apps that CCleaner cleans up. Some apps are automatically listed for cleaning in CCleaner, so a run down the list of apps it supports and unticking the ones that you dont wish to have temps etc cleaned from, tends to cure this up.

Thank you so much, David. However, Roboform is not in that list, so I'm stumped. One thing I forgot to mention, though. I'm using an older version of Roboform too, 6.73, because I didn't like the new version (instead of the simple popup window you have to use this bloated toolbar to fill passwords).

    Hello,
    See if this helps.

If using Firefox, go to Ccleaner>Cleaner>Applications Tab and make sure
    "Saved Form information" is unchecked.

If using Internet Explorer got to Ccleaner>Cleaner>Windows Tab and make sure
    "Autocomplete form history" is unchecked.

Actually, turns out I didn't need to be using an older version of CCleaner. I was led to believe they had started charging for their product but took a second look. Looks like it was just a more detailed 'donate' request, using the word 'buy online' lol Ummmm..

Anyway, I did a scan with the new version, and all was fine afterward. However, last time all was erased after scan then restart - so maybe it could be the restarting of my 'puter? I'm almost afraid to reboot now..lol If that were the case, is there any known thing in Vista where it affects Roboform's saved info upon rebooting?

    Hi

It's possible that if you aren't shutting down/rebooting the PC using Vista's Shutdown/Reboot buttons (and letting it complete on its own) that the Roboform data isn't being saved... that's the only issue regarding Windows that I can see.

Using the reset BUTTON on the computer should only be for emergencies (i.e. the computer completely locks up), and can corrupt or lose data, including Roboform.

I assume you're doing it correctly... but just in case. ;)

Ok..I made a mistake. After that new version CCleaner scan, it did once again erase all of my passwords. I just noticed they're all gone and I have to fill them in again at every site. So, it is CCleaner, no auto form delete is checked. Also, haven't restarted or shut down. Now I'm not only stumped, but a little ticked :(
