    Hi,
I'm trying to clean my home PC
I don't want to skip any step,
but using CCleaner with default settings (in safe boot) in another infected PC
I recognised it washed up all my old posts (in & out) in Outlook Express.
I can't do that in this other PC 'cause I work with my posts...
I manually removed suspected posts and attachements,
but - believe me - I can't remove all them.
How to run CCleaner without remove OE old postings?
I couldn't find the proper tab to uncheck it...
    May you help me?

    Cesarito:confused:

Look under that Applications tab and see if there is a check box there for Outlook Express. If so, try unchecking them. And as a test. Don't use the Run Cleaner button, just use the Analyze button and see if it then no longer reports the Outlook files.

Don't know! In fact I don't understand why it would remove your email files. They are not temp file unless you are storing them in a temp folder. Are you sure that Ccleaner removed them? If there were infected email files, perhaps one of the scanning tools deleted them.

If you run the Analyze feature, does it show a listing of Outlook stuff? The Analyze feature does not remove anything. It just shows what the Run Cleaner will remove.

    thanks Chas
I'll do that but I'm afraid it will delete them....

may you analyze my full-spy&troyan scans of my poor home PC?
    Thanks a lot

BitDefender show various Outlook files to be infected and it deleted them.

So perhaps it was (as I already said) the scanning tools that deleted some of your email stuff and not Ccleaner.

The Analyze function does not delete anything. If you are so worried about loosing files, just back them up first. But note, you could be backing up infected files since BitDefender showed some.

It's my responsability, sorry Chaslang, I didn't explain well everything....

    I have two PCs

    - The office working one is the TrojanSpammer infected one, of my first post...
in that PC you helped me to recover a hard infection...
In that PC I deleted after washing all old postings in Outlook Express
but I don't worry about, it was an hard infection and I'm happy now
    (and thank you a lot)

    - The home PC is the last post and attachements one,
I was attempting to clean it after a period of suspicious slow web-connections in ADSL... and after the miracle in the other PC !!!
In this PC I got precious posts and I can't delete them.
The misunderstanding was that I said I'm WORKING with them,
but I was speaking of the home PC !!!

The home PC, as you can see, has bad LOGs, full of trojans and spyware...
May you help me to recover or delete that files in this second PC even if I don't run CCleaner?
Thanks again and sorry of my bad english!

    Cesare

Yes I can help you. But I think you are missing a point. I don't believe CCleaner removed any email files and it looks like from you last log that BitDefender deleted some already. If files are infected, they need to be either cleaned or deleted. If they can not be cleaned the tools will delete them. Since you are so concerned about not loosing any information I was telling you to backup the files first before you do anything else. That way you can always recover from a backup. But be aware that the backup could contain infected files.

You biggest problem is that your OS and IE versions are way out of date and represent a major security risk. After any current malware problems are resolved, you must get updated.

You should first empty your Norton Antivirus Quarantine.
    Next empty your Recycle Bin.
Next empty the Norton NProtect folder. See this: Emptying the Norton Protected Recycle Bin

The below Windows Automatic Updates service is not from Microsoft and must be removed.

Click on Start, then Run ... type services.msc into the box that opens up, and press 'OK'. On the page that opens, scroll down to Windows Automatic Updates ... then right click the entry, select 'Properties' and press 'Stop Service'. When it shows that it is stopped, next please set the 'Start-up Type' to 'Disabled'. Press 'OK' until you get back to Windows.

Next, run HJT, but instead of scanning, click on the "None of the above, just start the program" button at the bottom of the choices. At the lower right, click on the 'Config" button, and then the Misc tools' button ... select 'Delete an NT Service" ... copy/paste the following into the box that opens, and press "OK":

    Windows Automatic Updates

Now exit HJT but and reboot. After reboot attach a new HJT log.

Your log is clean. If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to go back to step 1 of the READ & RUN ME to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points. Then reboot and enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

After that, you should work thru the below link:
