CCleaner is an easy to use, safe, well-known drive cleaner as well as some system tweaks. It's easy to use as a drive cleaner, but as it does so much more, this video goes way beyond our 5-minute goal to show you all of the available features.

The biggest disagreement I have with CCleaner's default setting which has been true since version 3.XX is to delete the Memory Dumps. Very few techies realize there are 16 to the 8th power (4,294,967,296) different "blue screens" and those dumps are invaluable in locating the cause of the problem!
After that, I find that most users should keep their browser(s) history, their recently typed urls (you have to check both tabs to get all of them if you have Chrome or Firefox installed), and their recent documents.

Unless a system has suffered problems, including BSODs, the memory dumps are of no use.
If a system has been seeing such problems a user can simply uncheck that in CCleaner.

Yes; but, that will be, most probably, after they experience blue screens and the existing ones will already be gone! Most users won't even know what they are or how useful they can be.
I say this; especially, since, of late, I have seen a rash of bad driver updates pushed by Microsoft as part of the Windows Updates.

It's a very widely held view by people who know what they are talking about that CCleaner is probably the safest drive cleaner anyone can find. Indeed that's what draws criticism from some - that it is too safe.
If users don't know what the default settings are - that leave most useful cache in place - then that's life. The facts are that memory dumps are not very useful anyway, and error reporting remains untouched.
The issue of Windows Update, and non-Microsoft updates, is as old as Windows. Even in Windows 10 they are optional.
Teach people - don't assume they are stupid.

That is what I have been doing for over 41 years, now.
But; as a note, not installing Windows updates is asking for trouble and, if Windows thinks it needs a new hardware driver, they are often included in the standard updates, not the optional ones.
