cd and dvd drives

okay, so after trying everything to fix my computer because I was getting the wierd message (see my post on software threads uder "help") i finally did a system recovery. At first, I had all my programs back, but was having a problem with my cd drive. The dvd drive was okay. I did some changing and switching and all kids of other things, some that had to do with some sonic program I have, and I think I changed something that had to do with the reading of some disc's from the drive. I ended up system recovering about 3 times, now I have no c/d or dvd/burner dirves. I am trying to check in dos any exe programs for the drives but nothing so far. Also, I did notice the old drive letters, e and f, were now taken by the memory card drives that used to be j & k. I switched the letters back but still have no e and f drives....Anything? Anyone?

 

I'm sorry I'm a little lost at what exactly the problem is???

 

I no longer have my cd rom or dvd drives listed anywhere.

 

Go into your BIOS with both drives plugged in and see if you can see them there??
