CD and dvd not ecognised

Hi guys just uninstalled a embeded graphics card with device manager and ive noticed when i rebooted the machine that both "E" and "D" drives are not listed on "my computer" i can't browse for them ive tried add new hardware and they havent been found there nowhere to be found i've tried uninstalling the power and data cables to them and rebooting and i get no "found new hardware" anyone any ideas

 

Do they show up in the BIOS?

 

also, is one set to master and one set to slave on the jumpers? (an unlikely problem but it can mess with what comes up!)

 

i will try both tomorrow thanks i was given the machine at about 4pm and i finish at 5 pm so i was rushing to think up why it was doing it
