I know Roxio has Disk Copy & formatting features, but what other software has these features? I read that Nero is good but does it have these 2 features? Windows Media Player only burns music, I believe not data from your file folders. MusicMatch burns music but not data files, unless someone can say otherwise. Could the community please advise...thankyou

Windows XP has built in burning for data. Right click on the file you want to burn, choose Send To, and select the CD drive. For music, Windows Media Player will burn it fine. There's several good, free CD/DVD burning tools:
    CD Burner XP 3: http://www.majorgeeks.com/CDBurnerXP_d4242.html
    Final Burner: http://www.majorgeeks.com/FinalBurner_d5319.html
and for audio CD's, convert .mp3's (and other audio formats) to standard Cd audio, try BURRRN: http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/Burrrn/burrrn.html
As far as formatting, you don't really need to format CD's unless you want to use a 'Direct CD' type of application, in which case, you'd probably have pay for some commercial software; I don't think any freeware apps have this feature.
