I'm sure you guys have touched on this many times, but I have a dumb question.

I have several concerts in MP3 format that are 2 hours + long. Is there any way to break those in half to fit on 2 discs (or less than 80 mins.)? A friend of mine told me they have to be transferred to wav format first. Is this true? Again, I apologize if this subject has come up before. If so, perhaps someone could direct me to the threads?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
