cd burning

i am a newbie.i tried to burn a one hour 16 minute video onto a 80 min,700 mb cb,but had insuffecient space.(cd-r disk)what kind of cd do i need to have enough space to burn this video

 

what format is the video in that you are trying to burn and what size is it ? you may have to convert it to a vcd to fit it on a cdr .I believe there are also programs that can split the video into smaller files so you can span it across several cdr's. I use a program called Power Producer which will convert them to vcd to fit on cdr but maybe someone else knows of other programs that can do that or slpit them up into smaller pieces

 

sorry,as i said,im a newbie,and i have no idea what any of what you replied means.all i know is that i tried burning it as data.thanks for responding,i simply dont know enough about this issue to understand what you were asking,but i do appreciate your reply,perhaps you could "dumb it down"some so i can understand better,lol

 

ok.. where did the video come from? a camcorder..vcr. etc and also how big is the file ? if you right click on the file and then click properties it will tell you how big it is and also what format it is such a mpg.. mpeg.. .mov.. generally depending on the size of the video file to fit it on a cd you have to convert it to another type such as vcd which will make it smaller but at the same time it reduces the quality of the video.
