Is it only possible to get drivers now from other than DriversGuide or whatever?

Even the manufacturer's site refers to 1 of the 3 or 4 "exclusive" driver site downloads.

    I need Merion HL-DT-DVD-ROM-GDR-8163B and HL-DT-ST-DVDRAM-GSA-4160B

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi

What Windows version are you using and is this PC a laptop? as CDROM/DVD drivers are normally picked up by the OS and a generic one installed, dont think I have ever had to install a CD driver for at least 10yrs.

So whats the issue with these drives? any yellow ! marks in device manager, errors on loading or trying to playback CDs etc

if its that Cds/DVDs are not recognised then try this http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/314060

Then if that doesnt fix it, in Device Manager, open the CD properties and uninstall the CD driver, then reboot and allow windows to pick up and install the driver again.
