CD/DVD drive problems

Hey Everyone

I will tell you the whole story before i go onto the DVD prob so you understand what happened.

I recently had a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) and my computer buggered up. I think it happened when i was installing Alcohol 120%. Well then the BSOD came on. When i restarted the comp a message came up saying that my CPU was too hot or summat.

When i eventually got the comp back on it started installing drivers i think, something to do with the SCSI II and Raid drivers. Then the BSOD came back on.

After restarting the computer in safe mode the computer now works.

However the DVD drive was not working properly so i went into device manager and there was a yellow exclamation mark next to it. I thought it was the driver so i uninstalled it, now the DVD drive has gone properly argh.

I think i have had this problem before and it was something to do with 2 conflicting Burning softwares messing up the registery. Could that be the case?

My comp is
Pentinum 4 2.93
160 gig HD
512 MB ram
Radeon 9250
