I just installed a new fan and now my cdrom drive and dvd drive feels hot to the touch. The discs feel hot as well as the tray. Should I be concerned? I never noticed this before installing the new fan.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, but what type of fan was installed? Case fan? CPU fan?

    Hot or just warm?

Both drive and disk get warm in use.

However check that you have installed the new fan blowing in the correct direction. If it blows the wrong way temperatures will be raised not lowered, leading to premature failure, maybe of a more important component than the CD.
