cd/dvd not showing

hi guys just need a bitof help with my hpdv9000 my dvd has desapeared from device manager and also in my computer it opens closes and boots up but nothing happens i have checked i have checked regedit and there is no upper and lower filters i have been looking on net for a while now but can not find a solution to my problem someone please help thank you in advance

 

Did you tried to boot some Windows disc?
What about in safe mode?

 

safemode is still same i am trying to get myself a boot cd as i dont know what i done to mine so at the moment cant try that thanks for reply

 

The way I fixed mine was to remove the IDE from device manager and reboot.

 

What about to boot a CD before windows starts, "like trying to install windows again" look, i don't say "re install windows" just see if the dvd is reading or not any disc before windows starts.

 

it wont boot a windows cd i changed in bios to boot up from cd but nothing happens i think i done it right which ide do i delete or all?

 

Then i guess your DVD is dead, time to get a new one.

 

I don't know I tried using a different DVD from my old laptop that my screen ****ed up and it wouldn't even detect that one and when I reinstall demontools it cames back with kbax or something like that as a d drive in my computer but when I click to explore it says insert cd even tho a cd is in it thanks for help

 

Yes because third party software modifies registry and the problem of your dissapear device was that.
