    Hallo
I have borrowed a laptop, an HP Presario M2000 series, running windows XP sp 3. The rom has no lights and I can only open it with a paper clip in the small hole. In device manager the rom had a yellow exclamation mark. I uninstalled it and rebooted. The driver has loaded successfully and in properties it says it is enabled and working. Yet under location it has a zero? Can anyone please give me some advice? The rom is a Matshita UJ-840D. I have tried CDgone and that did not help.

    Hi,

thanks I tried that, there are no filters listed on that reg key, and microsoft fix it was unable to fix it (lol) just said it could not read the media in the rom. Wonder if the rom itself is messed?
