    Hello,

When I insert a C-RW cd into the computer the window doesn't pop up any longer asking what I want to do (i.e. open file). So when I go into start, computer and click on :E it comes up and says no file associated with it and to go into control panel and assign one. I never saw this before and I have no idea what to do. When I used to look in the start, computer :E it showed a cd with CD listed but this says DVD.

I recently converted a .flv into a .mp3 file and it is playing perfectly on the computer but when put into the car it states bad disc or when played in a portable cd player it plays for a second and then skips or stops completely. I have made numerous music cd's in the past and never had this problem. I'm kinda stuck right now because I need this music for a wedding tomorrow and cannot figure out why this isn't working. I wasn't sure if it's because it states there isn't a file associated with the cd when I first put the cd in.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried another converting software, but most of all are you choosing the correct procedure to burn MP3 ??? Also what operating system are you using ??

If you don't have an alternate CD burning program, go to www.microsoft.com or the Major Geeks download section and download the latest version of Windows Media Player. It will convert .mp3 or .wmv files to standard CD (.wav) files and burn them to a disk. Be sure you are using the "Burn CD" option; doing a direct copy without converting to .wav files is useless for a standard CD player.

    If this doesn't work...

Go to CONTROL PANEL>SYSTEM>DEVICE MANAGER and check the CD Drive. If it has a Yellow "?" or Red "X" by it there is an issue with the drivers. Even if it shows the drive is functioning properly write down the make/model of drive listed.

If running XP, search "CD Drive Problem" on microsoft.com. There is a one click "fix it" that may solve the issue.

If the problem isn't fixed, go to the drive mfr's support page, download and install the latest firmware and drivers for the specific make/model of drive.

You can also try www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/XP_CD-DVD-Fix.zip . (Credit for this link goes to pistol from the thread http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=224602)

Hope one or more of these tips helps make the wedding a great event. :)
