cd-r/rw drive?

i need to know if there a problem with cd burner.. ive had it since i bought my computer and it been working perfectly fine till now.

I made a list of music to burn and usually burn it using roxeo cd creator.. but this time it doesnt run.. it says to put a cd of proper media format. I am using staple cd-r .. so i though maybe it was the cd , so then i put in memorex cd-r.. still same thing. So then i though maybe it was the program.. i tryed using windows media player but still nothing.. says it cant burn to cd.. etc..

is something wrong with my cd/dvd burner? driver? plz help

 

I am having a similar problem, and I believe it is because I uninstalled Roxio, so I think I will try to reinstall it. You may want to try that too.

 

Well, I don't think I have a CD for it. And I can't access the website forsome reason

I can read DVD's but I can't burn them?

You may also want to try:

selecting the drive, right click and select properties, then select the recording tab, and click "enable CD recording on this drive"

 

I've found a solution to my problem. Windows XP does not support direct DVD burning. I can't cut and paste the files. I'm not sure how I did it before, unless I used Roxio. I don't think I ever got a Roxio CD from dell. The software looked like an advertizement so I uninstalled it. I can burn with Nero, but it's a trial version. I'm going to look about for some free software.

BTW, Windows Vista does not require any special software to burn DVD's.
