CD ROM Drivers for WIN XP

Okay, I'm going out on limb here, this might not even be the first problem solution I need to start on. But my friend has a computer that has stopped recognizing his CD-ROM drives, and my first thought on anything question marked in the Hardware List is "Just get the drivers"

So, being said, I've looked all over the internet, and have come up with nothing. I'm going to try some other things, but I was hoping someone would know a quick link to a website hidden from googles eye.

I'm looking for drivers for these CD Roms:
Compaq DVD-ROm GD-8000
LG CD-RW CED 8080B

XP would generally not need CD driver as they come built in with the OS, what you could try is to delete the upper and lower filters as this has been a known cause of none usable CDs

you can also delete the CD drives from Device Manager and reboot and XP should re-load them.
