CD-Rom Read-Only Problem

I'm throwing this out to see if anyone has this happen. I copied photo's fm Win 98 onto a CD-Rom & inserted the disk into my Win XP. Pictures & their folders all show fine but I can't delete, rename, copy or move in any way because it says all of these files on this CD are read-only files. How do you change the attribute?

Also, in some cases, is there a small Red x in a rec'd msg where there should be a picture?

M79, you should be able to copy from the CD, even if the files are read-only...in Windows Explorer, create a folder where you wish to copy to, highlight the files you wish to copy on the CD, right-click on the highlighted files, click 'Copy' (or Ctrl-C), bring the focus to the folder by clicking in the folder, and right-click, click 'Paste' (or Ctrl-V)...
As far as the attributes: there's nothing you can do about the Read-onlys on the CD, but once you get them copied, you can remove all of those attributes by using something like PropertiesPlus...
