cd writing wizard error...???

i get an error when i try to burn any file to a cd, cd writing wizard says " cannot complete the cd writing wizard" then below it says "there is an error in the writing process, the disc you have attempted to writemay no longer be usable.

it did this the other day , then it worked a couple. now it wont burn at all, no matter how many different discs i put in it.

Also i noticed when i right click on a file to "send to " the cd drive, now 2 drives come up with the same drive letter
One says cd direct drive (d)
the other says cd-rw drive (d)

any clue what i did?

thanks, but none of that seemed address the issue i'm having. i even unistalled the cd-rw and rebooted to have it pick it up. it will read cd's it just gives me the error of the disc not being able to be written to.

 

oh, yeah, there is only 1 cd drive in the pc, not 2. but if you right click to "send to" it shows 2 cd drives with the same letter. that came back also with the reboot. its very confusing.

 

You may have files waiting to be written.

Try deleting them.

I think you have to double click your cd drive/s, then under CD Writing Tasks, click Delete temporary files.

 

deleted all of them. nothing waiting.

 

How many drives are listed in Device Manager and My Computer?

I can't really offer a lot of help with the CD Writing Wizard as I don't use it much.
