Hello, I'm still running through the sticky on "What to do First" that you guys have posted, but I do not believe it will fix the problem that I am having. (I'll edit this if it does).

I've run Mcaffee, Spybot and Hijack This and cleaned my system out of all the malware that I could find. However, my CDrom drivers are skewed and I am unable to run the windows XP CD even from bootup (it gives me either a TRAP 000006 error, a bunch of colored ASCIIs, Blackscreen or some Windows NT error [I am using Windows XP Pro]).

I tried looking for drivers for my CDrom, but the best I could find was a link saying that they were included on the Windows XP CD and that I did not need them. I honestly do not know what kind of CDrom I have. Windows identifies it as a CDrom IDE4816. I believe the drivers are corrupted, as I stated above, and would like some suggestions as to how I might fix this.

I've uninstalled the drivers through the Device Manager
I don't know where the drivers are stored so I don't know how to delete them.

I'll go back to following the instructions and will edit this with more information once I'm done. Thanks!

Okay, I finished the scans as suggested in the sticky and went through my Hijack This! file without identifying anything out of place. (Files are Attached)

If someone could assist me, I'd really appreciate it. All I want to do is format my computer in peace, but am completely unable to :(

    Thanks!

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Problems like this belong in the Hardware Forum. I'm going to move this thread there.

You have no malware that is causing this problem, but you do need top delete the below:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Irwin\Local Settings\Temp\nsc3.tmp\nsProcess.dll

In fact it would be best just to delete all files in the C:\Documents and Settings\Irwin\Local Settings\Temp except for ones from the current date.
