CDs written in UDF format won't read on XPbased system.

I have been trying - without success - to view photos on cdroms written on a Windows 98se based machine, the cds were written using UDF format on a Phillips CDRW using write2cd software, the end result is that my current Windows XP based machine refuses to read the cds, I have even installed the Phillips CDRW and associated software in my current machine, but to no avail. Can anyone suggest a solution?any replies greatly appreciated.
