Cell Phone Plan.

I am looking for a cell plan that has nationwide coverage. I went to the Cell-One place in my town, and the guy tried to convince me to get a plan that will never work for me. I live in Montana, and will be shipping to Fort Knox, Kentucky late July early August.

What I need is: A plan that I can use to keep in contact with family and friends both here in Montana and in Kentucky without the worry of being out of the potential service provider's coverage area. But I also need to be able to do the same with New York, as there is a chance that I will possibly get stationed there, or in Washington state.

Any suggestions?

Here in new york, I have verizon. I dont know if thats available over there but I know they cover a lot of states, MOST actually And after 9pm its free! There are very few areas that I've noticed that you would get charged for roaming, I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for but verizon has several good plans for calling in the states.Out of the states I think you have to have a chip put in your phone so you can make calls to the states but out of state plans, I really dont know!

 

Just ask the provider for national roaming coverage. If you are going out the country ask also for international roaming coverage. If they can't provide these then they aren't the provider for you. HTH

 

i just want a bloody phone that works ANYWHERE at all on this island. biggist rip off in todays society! I HATE CELL PHONES. useless bits of C**p, all of them, and they give you brain cancer.........o.k. rant over aloha

 

Cingular's got the best coverage around here. Verizon is a close second.

 

Got Cingular & national plan, best I've had #1 IMO

I was in the Islands couple years ago, my AT&T phone worked great made lots of calls to the states.

I'd be more worried about them there Volcanos, than brain cancer from a cell phone.

I was referring to signal strength also. People using Cingular around here tend to get 3-4 bars all the time, even before they merged with AT&T and got more towers.

Been there, payed for that. I used to sell Cellular Phones in Sam's club. Sold US Cellular and CellOne (now cingular), but after I left, I took Nynex, which became Verizon. The FREE nights used to start at SEVEN PM! When I moved, they insisted I keep their scratchy service and now it was $15 more a month for near $50 and FREE after NINE. I went with AT&T and they after 2 yrs went to free after nine also. I am now with Sprint, and it is ok, but had to put on home only as I was getting roaming in same town. I pay $5 extra every month to have nights and weekends start at 7.

My wife worked for a while for Nextel partners, and that was the worst service I ever saw. It did improve somewhat after a few years, but we do miss her unlimited company paid phone when I lose her in Target.

In other words, you will find as many who hate any plan as you will find anyone who likes a plan. There are bulletin boards online to show you the best and worst.

 

I don't recall seeing that option on my Cingular plan...excellent plan and national coverage though, even without this add-on brain feature.
