Is it possible to change the drive designation letter of a drive?

I added a drive but when I did the mirror to the new drive I ended up with a C: and F: drive. I want the F: drive to be the D: drive and then make it hidden as it is the recovery partition. That is the short version of the story.

Any help on how to do this would be appreciated.

    Assuming this is XP:

    Start, run diskmgmt.msc.

You can right click on the drives here and change the drive letter. You cannot change the system drive letter, however.

    Adrynalyne,

Thanks. That is exactly what I needed. Unfortunately, it wouldn't let me change the designation as it is a system partition. Oh, well.

Hmmmm. I know that a drive can be made hidden; but I'm not finding how to do that. I thought it could be done through Windows Explorer but I got caught thinkin' again.

Sorry, if its the system partition, it requires a clean install to change it.

As for making a hidden partition, you'd have to use something like Partition Magic. Windows XP doesn't contain any tool to do that.
