Changing the icons?

How can i change the icon of mp3 and other audio files. I want these files to use the icon of window media player.. currently these files are showing the icon of sound file, the icon which appears on the simple sound files.

Please advice on how to change the icons?

 

I believe what you want to do is change the program association. You can change the icon, but that is only an aesthetic change. To change the program association, please do the following:

1. Right-click the file
2. Select 'Open With'
3. Check the box next to 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file'
4. If the Windows Media Player is on the list, select it, if not, press the 'Browse' button and navigate to the executable.

This will cause all mp3 files to open by default with Windows Media Player.

 

I'm certain that Mada is right in the assumption that you want to change the file association but on the off-chance that you do just want to change the icon of a shortcut on your desktop then just right click on the icon, select properties, then shortcut the click on the change icon button and selct a new icon of your choice.
