I put it in this section because no one is answering my questions at hardware. Everytime my computer freezes or maybe just at random times my computer loses memory and I can't get it back using Ccleaner and ATFcleaner. I don't know where it is going. My computer just froze and when I restarted I lost 30 MB of memory. I ran the pre recovery screen at startup but the memory is still gone. Please help.

I ran chkdisk on C: drive and D: drive. It said there were no problems found and my disk space was not recovered. My computer froze earlier today and I lost 30MB. Everytime my computer freezes I lose 30 MB. At this rate, my computer won't last two weeks. What the heck is going on?

This does not sound like a malware problem, but the only way to know for sure is to have you run the READ & RUN ME and attach your logs.

Are you running any kind of file backup software?
You do realize the system restore point take up disk space too? And they will take up large junks of diskspace like this too.

!!!!!! Chaslang you may have explained it! I never noticed my computer to do this before, until...........I enabled system restore. On our last problem, You said at the end to turn on system restore. I always had it disabled! That may very well explain it. What do you suggest that I do? Is there anyway to delete restore points and regain the disk space, if this is what the problem is?

System Restore will only use up a certain amount of diskspace as allocated by the Windows OS. Once it reaches that point, an old restore point or two will be removed to make room for the new one. You can see System Restore settings by right clicking on My Computer and selecting Properties. Then click the System Restore tab and then click Settings to see how much diskspace is allocated. It is best to allow the system to set the amount by default.

You still need to go back to the Software Forum and figure out why your PC is freezing.

It is set to maximum (2050MB). Before I turned it on I had 3.9 GB, it is slowly sliding down everytime my computer freezes and now its down to 2.9 GB.

I'm not sure what your point is, and either way it does not belong in this forum unless you are having malware problems. If your hard disk is not large enough for what you want to do then buy a larger hard disk or delete unnecessary files from it (like MP3s, video types of files, etc). And actually when you posted in your previous malware thread, your ShowNew log said you had 2,426,748,928 bytes free not 3.9 GB.

If your PC is freezing, you need to figure out when and why. That may really be an issue for the Software Forum.
