Hello Everyone, Got some bad news I'm afraid.

The packard bell desktop has exploded on me on the 28/11/2009 at around 1.30am which prompted in neighbours calling the police which I had to explain in what had happened and police left at that. So I managed to salvage the working parts that had been untouched.

I also now running a new desktop computer with a operating system of being windows vista, Just need to upgrade the memory on it as it only has 1GB Ram which is bare minimum to run such operating system.

Oh well not a very good week at the moment :cry

I just wish computer component manufacturers would come up with better ways to trap the imps and magic smoke.:p

Yeah the power pack went with a big bang and then next i saw little flames coming out. So I know I have killed the computer.

Well if your lucky the parts may be ok if the psu just went out.

This is a good lesson in how unreliable PSUs can be.

    What brand was it?

Not sure, Don't have the tower anymore I sent it in to a computer store to have a investigation done and they emailed me back saying that a spark was created in psu which caused the bang. On Closer inspection there was a wire inside the psu with its sleeving half missing which means bare wire was exposed and that was the fault.

I couldn't believe it a little wire can do so much damage.
    :(

    Hello Everyone,

I have managed to get another pc setup £175 UK pounds which is currently running Windows Vista Home Premium. Only thing that needs doing is fitting more memory inside as it only had 1GB which is bare minimum to run such operating system. It also came with a 24 inch flat screen monitor with Nvidia Geforce 6100 nforce 405 Graphics.
