cheap/free mac video compressor?

    Hey all, I'm asking this for a friend...

    He's trying to compress a video he's making from taking parts out of dvd's and editing them together... But the file he ended up with was like 230 or so MB for a roughly 4 min. vid. And the quality (resolution) was not teh best, either.

    He's on a Mac, and uses an inexpensive Mac homepage subscription, so does anyone know of any good compressor type programs he could get?
