Cheap International phone calls, from Australia

Maximum call time is 10 minutes, but rates are cheap.
Most countries are less than AUD$0.60 per minute.
Even for me ringing a Sierra Leone (West Africa) mobile number, it is only $0.60 per minute. No separate bills, either.

I realise Skype is cheaper but if you don't have broadband, or are away from your PC. Bazza

 

LOL! This is funny! We're implementing something very similar today! It's called SightSpeed. IMHO, this is the cheapest and best that I've seen! For me it beat out Skype and Ekiga in price, ease-of-use and functionality.

Coincidentally, I just checked my latest Telstra phone bill.

A 8min 55 sec call to a mobile in Sierra leone, West Africa, cost me AUD$17.34 (including GST).

The equivalent call using www.cheapcall1300.com.au would have cost me around AUD$5.40. A hell of a saving. Guess I'll be giving them a try. Bazza

 

I find the 10 buck mobile phone cards are good value, you get 'em from those Asian stores.

 

Most of them have never even heard of Sierra Leone, much less got a cheap rate to call there. I don't own a mobile phone, anyhow. Bazza
