...and a cheese knife, some butter, some pickle/relish, some wine (preferably white). Hey, why not a party as well...

Also, what I want to know is why there are air holes on one side of the cheese and not on the other sides? Anyway, I prefer Blue Stilton myself...

The reason there are holes in cheese is cos they are put there so as to con you into thinking you have a bigger piece than you actually get. Without a warning on the side pertaining to the presence of the holes this makes them legally guilty of sale by fraudulant deception!

My advice, if you come across this kind of cheese, take it back, demand either the equiv volume of cheese relating to the area taken by the holes, or tell the retailer you'll sue. Tell them you pay your taxes, this is a free world and such deception will not be tolerated to line the pockets of the Fat Cat cheesemakers living it up in the Royal Stilton Hotel while you go hungry. They may say that the wieght is clearly printed on the packaging but then counter this with the fact that the atomic wieght of the air within the holes is subject to the laws of Schrodinger's cat (hense why mice never get at uncut wrapped cheese) and is therefore possibly a contributary factor in the size to wieght ratio being deceptive.

If you believe that the holes are there because of the centrifugal force when creating the cheese then you have to admit there may well be truth in the idea of a hollow earth, because of the physics of creation in which case the problem with holes in cheese may well go a w(hole) lot ummmm... deeper!!!

    Whos paranoid? hehehe

    The difference of cheese...

In the cheese there are holes, but in the holes there is no cheese! :p

Ah the head cheese! Hidden talent from the should be chem prof. What program did you use? Your cheese does look like it has inees and outees! I think if you add those positives and negatives it does equal a solid cheese.

Well if you think about it, when you ask for "2 pounds of cheese" and they weigh it out for you, the air is taken into account, provided the scales are calibrated to work at standard temperature and pressure. (unless of course its pressurised inside the holes... eek exploding cheese!)

So, provided you have the cheese cut for you, you have no problem ;)

This picture is going on a card, and it seems this thread is too :p

I used Photoshop 7, by the way :D

Swiss Cheese give me gass. You pay for the holes because it adds to the aroma and flavor.

If it was centrifuginally(?) formed then would the larger holes be on the outside?
